Automatic time deductions can be enabled from the "Settings" screen in your TimeStation account.

When automatic time deductions are enabled, TimeStation automatically deducts a specific number of minutes based on the length of a shift. For example if your employees get a 30 minute lunch break each day. You can have TimeStation automatically deduct 30 minutes after 7 hours of work. This way if an employee clocks-in at 9:00 AM and clocks-out at 5:00 PM, their hours will total 7.5 instead of 8.

Without automatic time deductions, employees manually clock-out before going to lunch and clock-in when they come back from lunch.
